JOHN R. GARSKE, P.S.
President
John R. Garske, P.S., President, has been with Coleman Engineering Company
since 1975. He purchased the Company in 1984 with two other partners, who have
since retired.
Mr. Garske has over thirty years experience in Land Surveying, and is licensed
in both Michigan and Wisconsin. He graduated from Ferris State University with an
A.S. in Surveying and Topographical Drafting in 1973 and a
B.S. in Land Surveying in 1975.
Mr. Garske is a member of The Michigan Society of Professional Surveyors: U.P.
Chapter, The Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors, The American Congress on
Surveying and Mapping and the National Society of Professional Surveyors.
Mr. Garske has extensive experience working with federal, state and local
projects, including the Army Corps of Engineers, the Ottawa, Nicolet
and Chequamegon National Forests, the Michigan and Wisconsin Departments of
Transportation and the Iron, Dickinson and Gogebic County Remonumentation
Programs. He has also worked on various projects for utility companies
including the American Transmission Company, Great Lakes Gas Transmission Company, Excel
Energy and Enbridge Pipeline Company. Other notable projects include the Champion Paper Mill construction in Quinnessec,
MI, the M-64 Bridge relocation project in Ontonagon, MI, the Michigan and
Minnesota Height Modernization Projects, Great Lakes Gas R/W Surveys across
Wisconsin and Michigan, the Victoria Dam Reconstruction Project in Rockland, MI
and the Bad River Dam Project in Odanah, WI.
Mr. Garske serves on many community boards including the Ironwood Industrial
Development Corporation (IIDC) where he has served as President since November
of 2001. He was selected as Citizen of the Year in the City of Ironwood in 2003
by the Ironwood Chamber of Commerce. He has served as a member on the Faculty
Advisory Board for the Survey Department at Michigan Technological University
since 1992 and was recently named Chairman.
John is an avid runner, having competed in the last 11 Garry Bjorkland Half
Marathons in Duluth, MN, along with various other road races over the last 25
years.
He resides in Ironwood, Michigan with his wife, Lee-Ann. They have
three children, Kacy Rainaldo, Christin Garske, and John Ryan Garske who all
reside in Minneapolis.
